The best thing you can do when shopping on BIGshop
is to use your common sense. Be wary of merchants with zero or negative
feedback, carefully read product descriptions and always compare
products side by side to ensure you are getting exactly what you
want for the best possible price. Although all BIGshop merchants
are registered Australian businesses that adhere to online trading
best practice we still recommend following these simple smart shopping
tips....
Carefully read the products description and
shipping information
This should give you a good understanding of what’s on offer.
In particular check the picture and make sure that it matches the
items description. Check the shipping cost of the item using the shipping
calculator and check the merchants shipping and returns policies.
If you have any questions about a product use the “ask merchant
a question” link located on the right hand side or every product
description page to ask the merchant product specific question.
Get to know the merchant
It’s a good idea to educate yourself about the merchant you
are purchasing from before going ahead with the purchase. Read feedback
comments left by other customers and check the merchant’s feedback
score. The higher the merchants feedback score the better.
If you are still worried about a merchant reputation or have any other
questions about the merchant use the “ask merchant a question”
link located on the right hand side or every product description page.
Remember that all merchants on BIGshop.com.au are registered Australian
businesses have been screened by a BIGshop.com.au member of staff.
Use a safe payment method
Always pay for your orders directly through the BIGshop.com.au website
our secure server, which encrypts all submitted information. Furthmore,
merchants never see your credit card or payment information when you
pay on BIGshop.com.au, instead this information is supplied directly
to the credit card processor (Commonwealth Bank of Australia or Paypal)
and is not stored on BIGshop servers.
Use our Dispute Resolution service
If you receive an item that is significantly different to its
description or you don’t receive an item at all you should
follow the following steps.
Try contacting the merchant through the merchants Bshop, your
account home page or the contact information link supplied in
your purchase receipt.
If you cannot contact the merchant or do not receive a reply
from the merchant you should login to the BIGshop Dispute Resolution
Centre and raise a dispute against the merchant.
If the merchant does not answer your dispute or you are not
satisfied with the answer you can raise your dispute to “Mediation”.
In this instance a BIGshop account representative will work with
both parties to help resolve the issue.
If the issue cannot be resolved you may be eligible for buyer
protection. See our buyer portection section for more information
on the BIGshop Buyer Protection Program.
Finally, leave feedback for the merchant outlining the problem
you had. Leaving feedback is an important part of every transaction
on BIGshop as it help other consumers make more educated purchasing
decisions.
